Massage
Massage has been used for centuries as a form of restoring wellbeing to the body. Massage can help with relief from pain, reduce stress levels, heal injuries, relax muscles and leave you feeling calm and content. Sessions last for 60-90 minutes. I incorporate various techniques including Swedish massage, acupressure and deep tissue (see below for more details on techniques).
I treat every person as a unique and completely whole individual, working 'with', and not 'on', you. I listen to preferences and needs and tailor the massage accordingly.
My clients enjoy a full body massage, going deeper in areas that need it combined with a nurturing, healing touch. They will confirm that our sessions are relaxing and genuinely make them feel better (body, mood, mind). Most people who visit once return on a regular basis.
I am certified, qualified and experienced. I studied to become a Certified Massage Therapist at The World School of Massage in San Francisco, California in 2002. I have over 5 years experience and given hundreds of great massages.

Techniques include:
Swedish Massage
The classic European massage, addresses the whole person’s psychological, physical and emotional wellbeing. Using oils, I knead and manipulate the soft tissue (muscles, tendons and ligaments) using my hands, elbows and forearms. Used to stimulate circulation, ease muscle tension, improve flexibility and promote relaxation.
Deep-tissue massage
Helps to relieve chronic pain and involves deeper pressure. Deep tissue massage is directed toward the deeper layers of muscle and fascia, as compared to Swedish or relaxation massage which are more superficial. Used for relieving pain and increasing range of movement.
Acupressure
Acupressure is
an ancient Chinese healing method that involves applying pressure to certain
meridian points on the body to relieve pain. The human body has "meridians"
(energy pathways) that carry energy throughout the body. These meridians
start at the fingertips, connect to the brain, and then connect to the organ
associated with the specific meridian.
Acupressure deals with all the aspects of a person as a whole: body, emotions, mind, and spirit as one, not as separate parts. It relaxes muscular tension and balances the vital life force of the body.
The client lies fully clothed on a soft massage table while the practitioner presses gently on points situated on various parts of the client's body. The session is non-invasive and gentle. An average session lasts for about one hour. However, most clients normally require a number of sessions to complete a treatment.
Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy
VHMT is a healing bodywork that focuses on physical alignment and fluidity in order to free up tensions and stresses which have been held in the body. This reawakens the nervous system and restores circulation, helping injured and chronically painful areas. It is not just touch: it is touch with movement and flow.
VHMT is a ‘clothes on’ massage therapy that can be done as stress relief in 30 minutes or as a full session on the whole body in 60 or 90 minutes.
Like playing a finely tuned violin, tensions (energies) are set free and moved through the volume of a body as though the tensions were sound waves travelling through musical instruments. I tune into the rhythm, flow and timing of tensions moving through the body. This bodywork has been described as freeing all ‘noise’ so people can hear and feel their core essence.
VHMT is innovative and fun. It provides touch techniques that open, realign and reconstruct old body behaviours and pains into flowing, healthy energy. We can discover how to manage our own vibrations and release blockages that have been stuck with us from our past. This bodywork helps us to clear and cleanse our body, mind and spirit.
A few benefits of massage:
Increases circulation, stimulates the lymph system (so the body can remove toxins), relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles, increases joint flexibility and range of motion, reduces recovery time for strenuous exercise, releases endorphins (the body’s natural painkiller), relieves headaches and a great massage feels really, really good!
